These guidelines will assist companies concerning the type of material that could be placed in a GB web site and contact that should be avoided.
The Internet is a public domain interface. Our/Your priorities must be to encourage and protect the girls in our care. To protect the girls we would strongly recommend that one only use Christian names in any personal references in the web pages.
NEVER include girls addresses or telephone numbers on any publicly accessible page.
Each site can have their own Email capabilities. Since the Internet is a public communication system. We would recommend only allowing the outside world to communicate with your company through Email. Each company can have various prefixes added to their address e.g. enquiries@--- captain@----secretary@companyname.girls.brigade.org.uk etc. Each of these can then be automatically forwarded to a personal Email address so that anonymity can be guaranteed. It also allows for seamless transfers when personnel change.
Do not show children in compromising positions or partially clothed!!! Please don't forget anyone can access your site with various motives.
Please obtain the girls' guardians permission before putting photos on the web.
